Quran

A relationship, not a subject.

Every student at Anoor Academy in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina studies Quran as part of the ordinary school day, from the first year through eighth grade.

How Quran Is Taught

Recitation, understanding, and memorisation together.

Children arrive able to read fluently, barely at all, or somewhere between. Small classes are what let a teacher meet each child where they are.

01

Recitation

Correct pronunciation and tajweed built patiently, because a habit formed early is carried for life.

02

Memorisation

Memorisation is part of the school day for every student rather than a separate programme families opt into.

03

Understanding

What the words mean, taught alongside Arabic, so that recitation is never mechanical.

Every Student

No separate track.

Quran is not an elective or an after-school class at Anoor. It sits in the timetable with mathematics and science, which tells a child something about where it belongs in a life.
